FTP Non-Numerical Errors
If you encounter a non-numerical error while using FTP, please refer to the following list. Just select an error message to see an explanation and solution. This error is generally seen by users of WS_FTP. You are either using an older version or else have set WS_FTP's network timeout setting too low. We recommend you download the newest version of this program. Also, please see the Worldnet User's Reference Desk (WURD) for help with configuring the network timeout settings. This error is generated by several FTP clients; it is caused by setting the network timeout setting too low. We recommend you increase the network timeout in your FTP client. You have not specified a valid server in your FTP program's hostname area. For uploading to AT&T Worldnet PWP, the FTP server is upload.att.net. Please check the spelling carefully and note that the FTP server is not located at home.att.net or publish.att.net. You have specified a server name that, while valid, is not the name of the FTP server. For uploading to AT&T Worldnet PWP, the FTP server is upload.att.net. Please check the spelling carefully and note that the FTP server is not located at home.att.net or publish.att.net. Remember, this list is just for non-numerical FTP errors. We also have a list of solutions for numerical errors. The Worldnet Users Reference Desk (WURD) provides additional information. |
