Disk Usage, File List, How Much Space Do I Have Left?

The Disk Usage portion of the Site Management Tools gives you a list of the files that you have under your Personal Publishing Directory. Information listed for each file includes:

  • File size in bytes
  • Date of the last time the file was modified, where the time is listed in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Name of the file, including its directory hierarchy, if any.

Delete File Utility

Use the Delete File Utility to delete a file in your Personal Publishing directory you no longer need. Once the file is deleted, then the disk space it had is now available for reuse.

To delete a file, select the file from the File(s) to Delete list and then click the Delete file(s) button. When you are prompted to confirm that you want to delete the file, click the OK button. A message will be displayed informing you of the completion status of the action.

Rename File Utility

Use the Rename File Utility to rename a file in your Personal Publishing directory to another name.

File names must obey the following rules:

  • Directory and file names must consist of characters from "a-z", "A-Z", "0-9", "_" (underscore), "." (period), "-" (hyphen).
  • Directory and file names must not start with "." or "-" .
  • Directory and file names are separated by "/" .

To rename a file, simply select the file from the Rename file from select menu, specify a new name in the to field, and then click the Rename file button. A confirmation message will be displayed informing you of the completion status of the action.

Copy File Utility

Use the Copy File Utility to copy a file in your Personal Publishing directory to another name. An exact copy will be made stored under the new name. The original file is left intact.

File names must obey the following rules:

  • Directory and file names must consist of characters from "a-z", "A-Z", "0-9", "_"(underscore), "."(period), "-"(hyphen).
  • Directory and file names must not start with "." or "-".
  • Directory and file names are separated by "/".

To copy a file, simply select the file from the Copy file from select menu, specify a new name in the to field, and then click the Copy file button. A confirmation message will be displayed informing you of the completion status of the action.

Make Directory Utility

Use the Make Directory Utility to make a new directory in your Personal Publishing directory.

Directory names must obey the following rules:

  • Directory and file names must consist of characters from "a-z", "A-Z", "0-9", "_"(underscore), "."(period), "-"(hyphen).
  • Directory and file names must not start with "." or "-".
  • Directory and file names are separated by "/".

To make a directory, simply specify a directory name in the Directory to make field and then click the Make Directory button. A confirmation message will be displayed informing you of the completion status of the action.

Remove Directory Utility

Use the Remove Directory Utility to remove a directory in your Personal Publishing directory you no longer need. Once the directory is removed, then the disk space it had is now available for reuse.

You must make sure the the directory is empty before you remove a directory. Use the Disk Usage feature to verify this. If the directory to be removed is not empty and you attempt to remove it, an error message will be displayed.

To remove a directory, simply select the directory from the Directory to remove select menu and then click the Remove Directory button. A confirmation message will be displayed informing you of the completion status of the action.

Updating your Profile

Your profile is used to indicate whether or not your Web site is listed in the PWP directory. You can choose to be listed or unlisted. If you choose to be listed, you also have the option of determining how you should be listed.
