Using AutoRestore on an Apple Macintosh or Mac OS Compatible Computer

Important: You must follow these instructions in precise order if the AutoRestore feature is to work properly. We strongly suggest you print this page and put it in a safe place, or save it on your computer's hard disk.

If you use a Mac or compatible, how you use AutoRestore depends on which co-branded Web browser you use with AT&T Worldnet Service. (Hint: If you're not sure which browser you use, click on the item labeled Help at the top of your browser window, then on the item labeled About....)


Using AutoRestore With the AT&T Co-Branded Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.5 Browser
  1. Double-click your Macintosh HD folder to open it. From within this folder, find and double-click your Microsoft Internet 4.5 folder, then find and double-click your Internet Connection Wizard 4.5 folder.
  2. From within your Internet Connection Wizard 4.5 folder, find and double-click the Internet Connection Wizard icon. A screen labeled Get Connected will appear.
  3. Choose the Next button on the Get Connected screen.From here on out, follow the on-screen instructions and choose the Next button at the bottom of each screen and you will soon be connected to our server.
  4. Once you are connected to our server, choose the button labeled Retrieve Settings. You will then be asked to go through a simple authentication process. Then just follow the instructions on the screen to complete the AutoRestore process.

Using AutoRestore With the AT&T Co-Branded Netscape Communicator Browser
  1. Double-click your Macintosh HD folder to open it. From within in this folder, find and double-click your Netscape Communicator folder.
  2. From within your Netscape Communicator Folder folder, find and double-click the Account Setup icon. In about a minute the Dial-Up Edition screen will appear.
  3. Choose the Start Account Setup button on the Dial-Up Edition screen. From the Setting Up Communicator screen, choose the Account Setup button.
  4. From here on out, follow the on-screen instructions and choose Next on each screen.
  5. From the Connect to Server screen, choose Connect to Server and you will soon be connected to our server.
  6. Once you are connected to our server , choose the button labeled Retrieve Settings. You will then be asked to go through a simple authentication process. Then just follow the instructions on the screen to complete the AutoRestore process.
